Q: Is There Any Downtime After a Treatment?
A: Microdermabrasion is a safe and gentle procedure with no downtime. The client will need to protect his or her skin with moisturizer and sunblock for 24 hours after the treatment and may experience mild redness and peeling. However, the client can return to work immediately, which is why many clients prefer to have microdermabrasion treatments on their lunch breaks since there is no downtime.

Q:What Is Microdermabrasion and is it suitable for Acne?

A: For milder cases of acne, for acne prevention and for dealing with shallow acne scarring, microdermabrasion machine treatments are hard to beat. Again, it's all due to its powerful pore clearing power. No other form of exfoliation can compete with the effective yet mild microdermabrasion machine system.

One last note on microdermabrasion and acne, as we discussed it above, by microdermabrasion we mean the professional procedure and not the personal home microdermabrasion kits.Microdermabrasion is a facial procedure that uses topical and manual exfoliation to remove the outer layer of skin. This process works in a series to reduce hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, and acne scars through exfoliation. The client will leave the treatment with fresh and smooth skin, which will begin to repair and rejuvenate itself to treat a number of skin concerns. The skins natural reaction to Microdermabrasion is to produce new cells. These new cells replace the old ones which helps acne scars to clear.

Q: What Can I Expect from a Treatment for Acne Scaring

A: Within a microdermabrasion treatment, the skin will first of all be cleansed with a cleanser appropriate to each skin type. The microdermabrasion wand will flow smoothly over the complexion to remove all dead skin. The entire procedure should take roughly 20-30 minutes, and it will conclude by cleansing dead skin, applying a moisturizer and SPF.

Q: What Will Microdermabrasion Do for my Acne Scars?

A: Overall, microdermabrasion will reduce the appearance of wrinkles, remove acne scars, clear up blackheads, minimize the size of the pores, reduce sun damage, and even out the skin tone. Microdermabrasion also helps to boost collagen production to provide firming and toning to the complexion but it cannot offer reconstructive results for very deep scarring or burns.

 Red Light Therapy

It the skin is active with acne, it is beneficial to combine microdermabrasion with Light Therapy for maximum results and healing. Light therapy is the application of light energy to the skin for therapeutic benefits. It is a natural photobiochemical reaction similar to the process of plant photosynthesis.

Acne & Acne Scaring

Microdermabrasion is an effective treatment for acne scaring for both men and women of all ages.

The important thing to understand is that acne is created as oil on the surface of the skin is mixed with dead skin cells to clog the pores and create acne lesions

Microdermabrasion removes the top layer of the skin and therefore microdermabrasion can treat standard acne and scars. It cleans the skin and resurfaces superficial scars. It also encourages collagen production which can plump out the indentation caused by scars.

Light Therapy For Acne FREE

red light therapy

We utilize light of the blue and red spectrum: Bue light is a highly effective means of killing acne causing bacteria while red light adds an anti-inflamatory effect to the treatment process. Therefore Light Thereapy  can  treat already inflamed acne and enhance the removal of spots. This takes 15 mins extra and should be used with Microdermabrasion because it helps the healing of spots.

As a skin treatment, microdermabrasion is quite forgiving. It can address various skin concerns with hardly any fuss or any harmful side effects. Having said that, it's not an answer for any and all skin troubles. There are some skin problems that may be better kept far from a microdermabrasion machine's mild skin abrasion and suction lest they get irritated and compounded.

There have been some mention in various write-ups about microdermabrasion machine treatments and their effectivity in treating acne prone skin, banking on its efficiency at getting into the deep seated impurities that clog the pores both through its abrasive effect-whether through diamond tipped wands or the use of fine crystals-and the vacuuming action it provides. And, no question, this does work.

The combination of the removal of the layer of dead skin and dirt, plus the powerful suction that microdermabrasion machines deliver does clear the pores. But, and here's an important caveat, it's only usually advised for milder forms of acne.

People with moderate to severe acne are very likely to experience more harm than good from the treatment. Acne that is inflamed, pustular or cystic is best seen to by a dermatologist; these kinds of acne are not automatically recommended for microdermabrasion. In case you are unsure, always err on the side of caution and consult your dermatologist before undergoing any procedure. It's as easy as placing a call. Also, if your acne is severe and microdermabrasion is an option for your particular case, most dermatologists offer the treatment in their offices as well. This way, you can be sure that you will still get the treatment you need minus the risk of complications.
